About Us

At Frezato Vans we come from a background of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, mechanical automotive, as well as a lifetime of owning and operating a variety of RVs over the years. We have come to enjoy the versatility and capability that a van brings. We liked it so much we decided to start a company and build them. We found experienced van builders, and worked with them to create our finished product that we are very proud of.

Goals

Our goals are to provide affordable high-quality vans to those looking for an alternative to the more expensive and traditional RV vans on the market. We look for low mileage ProMaster® vans that are 1-2 years old with one owner and no accidents in very good condition. Because we specialize on one model of van, and one design layout, we are able to build them quicker and at a lower cost. We use quality materials and whenever possible look for environmentally friendly and safe materials for our customers.

Van

There are several reasons why we chose the ProMaster®. One of the main reasons is the FWD (Front Wheel Drive) transmission. This allows for better traction in bad weather. Also, by not having a driveshaft, it offers more space underneath as well as lowering the overall van height while retaining the head space. The width of this van is just enough to fit a full-size mattress longways. The ProMaster® uses a popular Chrysler engine that is cheaper to fix and most mechanics are familiar with it. This V6 engine runs on regular gasoline which is more common and usually less than the cost of diesel. Lastly, the ProMaster® has fully galvanized steel panels which makes it more rust resistant.

Process

We start with sound deadening material to decrease any rattles or road noise while driving. We use a combination of insulation materials. We use all-natural wool in many of the vans inside cavities which is resistant to mold and moisture, and acts as a filter when air passes through. In addition, we use spray foam and 1.5” thick foam board which is much thicker than many factory RVs. All of these materials are non-toxic and safe to breath. The floor is made with ¾” water and mold resistant plywood that is tongue and groove, glued, and screwed. Wood that attaches to the vans metal have been treated with mold resistant primer. We also use exterior and stainless-steel screws which will not rust. We use stainless steel rivet nuts to attach wood to the vans metal which is much stronger than just screws that could weaken over time. When cutting through metal we always file and paint the cut edges. PVC framing is used around windows which does not rot or rust and looks clean. All of these steps are to ensure that any moisture that may build up behind the walls will not create rotting or rust in the future, and the airflow through the wool insulation will help dry excess moisture or condensation build up. The materials we have chosen are those that you would find in a real home, such as real wood, plywood, stainless steel, and PVC. These are strong materials that are built to last. Some examples that you will not find in a traditional factory van RV:

  • Solid butcher block counter top
  • Large double stainless-steel sink with a large kitchen faucet
  • Large maple dining table
  • Wood shiplap siding throughout
  • Large inverter able to power all outlets all the time
  • Innerspring full-size mattress
  • Ability to make upgrades as needed

FAQ

- Can I add an air conditioner?
Yes. The 14x14 vent above the bed is ready to accept an A/C. The hole is the right size and it is already framed internally to support the extra weight. In addition, the electrical wiring is already there so it just needs to be connected. NOTE: Running an A/C should only be done with a generator connected or on shore power preferably with 30-amp power.

- Can I add another battery?
Yes. There is room to add another 12v AGM battery in parallel and the wiring in the van can support up to 400-amp hours.

- Can I swap out these AGM batteries for Lithium?
Yes. All of the systems will support lithium batteries with the exception of the battery isolator located in the vehicles battery tray. This component is designed for AGM charging while driving and would need to be replaced for lithium.

- Can I add another solar panel?
Yes. The solar controller is 30amps which could support up to 400watts of solar. You could add another 100watt solar panel in series on the roof.

- Can I add a generator?
Yes. You can carry a portable generator in the garage area under the bed and connect it to the shore power connector outside the van to both charge the van batteries and power the equipment.

- What are my heater options?
We recommend either a portable small propane heater or a small electric plug in. If electric, try to find the lowest wattage to decrease battery usage. The van is heavily insulated, so you may not need a heater at all unless you are in very cold conditions.
